Here is my new rug

The great room is moving towards completion. We had so much fun with our grandchildren and children. We always miss the ones who aren't here. This year we were grateful no one was traveling by air. Seatac was a mess. It was hard enough to get over the mountains. Luckily everyone is safely home.

Happy New Year to all.

Christmas Day

Read Ian's blog for details on the arrival of Santa. Stuart is once again a believer all because of Steve and Liz. We have had a wonderful Christmas. Craig and I love having our kids share their families with us. I know it is difficult to leave home at Christmas, but with our new room we had plenty of room for everyone. I so appreciate our daughters-in law and son-in-law. We are so blessed. As we watch you all as parents we are pleased that you are much better than we were, your traditions are wonderful to hear about. We were grateful that Kelly and Adam made it here and back home again. The 18 inches of snow is turning to slush and they had taken their chains off and almost couldn't get down Overhulse Road. It was certainly a slipping and sliding thrill ride. The women took off at noon to go to the theater to watch Twilight. Kami drove because she had chains on her car, she was amazing. I loved the movie and now I can see why the girls around the world are in love with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

A beautiful Saturday

Yesterday I had dad all to myself. We worked in the yard from 10 AM till 3:30 PM. We pruned a lot of bushes and mowed the lawn. Dad cleaned up the lawnmowers for winter hibernation. It was about 70 degrees. Dad was able to use many of his tools. We now have a blower that will blow me off my feet when I use it. I can blow spiders off the eaves of the roof. We also hooked our electric hedge trimmer to the big compressor that we bought for the next time the lights go out. I can trim those ferns in no time.

The other good thing about yesterday was the Women's conference. It is always nice to go and know that all the women I love are also viewing this while I am. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Luckily I had yesterday with dad, because today I haven't seen him. I at least know what he looks like.

Love to you all

4th of July

4th of July began with rain
So dad and Adam assembled my new
barbecue in the sewing room.

Kelly made a cute dress for Mackenzie out of care bear material.

Next they assembled my new ourdoor table which we were unable to use that day!

Spenser drooled and jumped his way through the day

Mackenzie loved her new outfit, but hated the fireworks

Adam and dad lit the flowers and a couple of piccolo pete's outside the window while we looked on from the comfort of the couch.

We all enjoyed rootbeer floats and went home happy.

How I Met Your Father

October 27, 1969 I know you have heard the story, but I want to put it down for posterity.
I was engaged to man named Terry Stuart, he was coming to Provo to take me to the Homecoming celebrations. A week before he had to cancel because of business. I was devastated, I had a new dress that I had made and I wanted to go to the dance.
My good friend who I worked with was lending a listening ear. Next thing I knew I was answering the door to my apartment and there stood my afore mentioned friend with her brother in tow. "I have a book I want to lend you," says Chris "and by the way this is my brother Craig."
Chris had left a message for Craig saying she had a friend she wanted him to take to Homecoming and she would pay him. He thought that meant I was a real dog so he got dates to everything except the Cowsill's concert (who would want to see them or who knows them?)
Well Craig called me that night and asked me to the concert. We had no expectations, he knew I was engaged. Well.....we had a wonderful time. I did wonder why he was talking so much about his high school band...oh, he was only 18, I was a mature 20.
I went home that night Terry had called, I told him I had met someone else and we broke our engagement. Later the next week I called Craig and invited him over for some Pumpkin Pie. He recently told me that if I hadn't done that he would never have called me, because he knew I was engaged.
I had been praying to Heavenly Father for months that he would send a nice LDS guy for me to date. He heard my prayers and answered them better than I could every imagine.

My first post

We had a day of Champions and we were great. Coryanne in the red jacket ran down the long jump trail and put her toe in the sand.
